Day 1: Guatemala City
Departure Flight. Arrive Guatemala City and transfer to your hotel. Free time to relax before dinner and overnight in Guatemala City.
Day 2: Chichicastenango
Early morning departure to Chichicastenango and its narrow cobbled streets and red-tiled roofs. On arrival visit the colorful market and the historic Church of Santo Tomas. Remainder of the day is at leisure to enjoy the marketplace and try out your bargaining skills! Dinner and overnight in Chichicastenango.
Day 3: Chichicastenango - Lake Atitlan
Journey to Solola for a visit to the Indian market. The majority of the city's inhabitants are Cakchiquel Indians who proudly retain their heritage. It is one of the few municipalities where both men and women routinely wear their traditional Mayan dress. In the afternoon continue to beautiful Lake Atitlan, famous for its natural beauty and colorful Mayan villages.
Day 4: Antigua
Transfer via motor launch for an excursion to the Guatemalan Highlands
and the lake-side village of Santiago Atitlan. Continue to Antigua, a quiet little city nestled in the foothills of the majestic Agua Volcano. Once capital of the colonial Spanish Empire in Central America, Antigua offers a fascinating collection of museums, churches, and colonial buildings. Dinner and overnight in Antigua.
Day 5: Antigua - Guatemala City
Morning tour of Antigua, with its natural beauty and historic monuments. The Spanish Colonial style permeates every part of the town: its houses, churches, squares, parks and ruins. Antigua is a city of charm and color where you can see and buy an overwhelming variety of attractive, handmade products that honor the traditions of generations of artisans. Return to Guatemala City for dinner and overnight.
Transfer to the airport for your return flight.
